Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 23 rd May 2022

LOTTO

Lotto draw was held online on Monday 23 rd May 2022.
The numbers drawn were 4 24 28 31 . There was no Jackpot winner . Our Lucky dip winners were Pauline
McEntee, & Owen Duffy .
Next week jackpot now stands at an amazing €7,050.
We have some Club Gear up for grabs in a bonus draw for all playing next weekend .

Hurling Feile
The Hurling Feile was hosted by Latton O Rahilly’s GAA Club last week with teams from
Castleblayney Hurling ,Truagh,Carrickmacross ,Clontibret, Monaghan Harps and Latton .
Well done to our Latton Lads who made it to the Semi Final and were narrowly beaten by the eventual winners
Castleblayney who defeated Carrickmacross in the final .

U13’s
Our u13’s are away v Gaeil Triucha on Thursday 26 th May and away to Killanny on Wed 25th May,Best of Luck.

They play Currin at home on Tuesday 31 st May at 6.30pm and Scotstown at 8.00pm.

U17’s
A good home win last week v Aughnamullen.

Senior League
A good away win v Castleblayney on Saturday evening in the Senior League. We play at home on Friday 27 th
May at 8.00pm against Carrickmacross.

Reserves
A good away win against Clontibret for our Div 1 Reserve Team however our Div 3 went down to a strong
Donaghmoyne side last week. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Gavin West who sustained an injury in last
Sunday’s fixture.Div 3 have a home fixture on Saturday 28 th at 5.00pm v Carrickmacross.
Div 1A side at home V Scotstown on Tuesday 31 st May at 7.45pm.

Senior Hurling
Our Hurlers were narrowly defeated in the Semi Final of the Shield last week.

Covid Volunteer Awards
We were delighted that our Club Secretary Christina Weldon was able to attend the Covid Volunteer awards
organised by Monaghan County Council and Monaghan Volunteer Centre last week and accept the award on
behalf of the Club for the efforts of our volunteers and members in the community during the Covid Pandemic
.A time that was so difficult for all as volunteers went beyond what was expected under difficult conditions to
help the vulnerable in our area and to keep our facilities open when it was legally possible .
We also send congratulations to Club Healthy Club officer Christina Weldon who also received a personal
award for her volunteering effort during the pandemic.

best wishes go to our Club & Parish Students as they commence the journey on their new and exciting road
