St Patricks Centenary Celebration
Sunday 12th March was certainly a day to remember in the Latton GAA Club and indeed in the entire community of Latton & Bawn and surrounding areas. Our Centenary Parade took place with an entry of circa 70 entries. We had business Floats, Community Groups, Sporting Groups, Novelty Floats, Vintage Cars/Tractors to name but a few… We would Sincerely like to thank our entire community who supported us on the day and made it such a brilliant Success. The Children of Scoil Mhuire proudly led the parade from the 5 Crosses into Latton where they were joined by Aughnamullen Pipe Band and all Floats passed the viewing Stand at the GAA Centre Complex. The Blue Skies were also the ideal backdrop for the Flyover by Pauraic Connolly who we are thankful to for adding the something special to the event. The Crowd were treated to a brilliant evening of Music by Brendan Mc Court and a Shanos Dancing Display by Linda Lennon’s Dancing Group. We thank all entries however special Congratulations go to Paddy Lynch’s Bar – Winners ,Derrygooney Ladies – 2nd and Sean & Rosella Culleton and Family 3rd with a brilliant Family effort depicting a day at the Fair.
