Latton O’Rahilly 2016
Juveniles to the Fore in a Year of “Double Doubles”

U12’SOur U12’S had a great year in 2016 . In their Spring League campaign they won 3 of their 5 matches played and were unlucky to lose out against Ballybay by a single point in the final. A great league performance resulted in a second place league finish. Well done to this very young set of players and all looks good for 2017. Thanks to all our Management and coaches who helped throughout the year.
U14’SOnce again in 2016 we entered 2 teams at this level in order to develop this Large Group of Players. The Division 1 Team reached the Championship and League Finals but unfourtunately lost out to the same opposition Donaghmoyne on both days. The Development from one final played in April to the second in September was evident with them only narrowly lost out on day 2.Our second team played in Division 5 and reached the Shield final but it wasn’t to be their day as they lost out to emyvale.Entering the two teams resulted in great developments for a lot of these young players. Thanks to all our Management and coaches who helped throughout the year.
U16’sOur U16’s were our first group of Juvenile Double winners this year . Once again they played in Division 2 and after struggling in 2015 this could have proved another challenging year however with the movement up of some of our younger players this group had a brillinat run the year. They played a Championship Final v Emyvale on 10th September and emerged victorious on a score of latton 2-15 – Emyvale 0-09. Their League run was truly impressive in which they played 12 League games winning a magnificent 11 and played in both a League Semi Final and fininshed the Season with a League final win over Donaghmoyne on 24th September on a score of Latton 3-13 to Donaghmoyne 3-09.Congratulations to both Players & Management on brining an U16 Double back to Latton in 2016.
MinorsLatton once again played in Division 3 at this age group . This proved to be a brilliant year for our minors , Their league run comprised 10 games from which they won a brilliant 9. They defeated Doohamlet in the Semi to be awarded a final against Sean mc Dermotts on 23rd August which they won by a single point Margin of Latton 1-11 to Sean mc Dermotts 2-07. In the Championship after two wins they played the same opposition Sean mcDermotts on 4th September and in a second close and entertaining encounter of 2016 they emerged victors on a scoreline of Latton 2-16 – Sean Mc Dermotts 3-11.We are proud to have brought home our 2nd Minor Double in two years and we extend our congratulations to both players & Management.

We defeated Magheracloone in the O’Duffy Championship Quarter Final but lost out to Donaghmoyne at Semi Final Stage.
U21’sWell done to our U21S’S who reached the final but were defeated by Gael Truicha on the day . A lot of young players received some valuable game time this year at this level and well done to all involved.

Senior TeamOur Senior team League performace finished well and were unlucky not to get a Semi Final position . They played 18 games , winning 7 , Losing 7 and Latton
drawing 4. Our Championship started with a good win against Carrickmacross in a preliminary Round . We then played Scotstown in Round 1 and a great performace seen them win on scoreline of Latton 1-14 – Scotstown 0-13.
